[MV REVIEW] We Became GangBANGED
So here we have another rookie group churned out of the KKS empire of financial desperation: Gangkiz!
"Kim Kwang Soo-ahjussi, make us populerrr--FAST!!! ♥ ♥ ♥"
The group comprises of 7 girls, JiHyun, SooEun, HaeIn, Esther, EunByul, SoMin and HyeJi (not in particular order), and seems like a younger (on a second thought) redo of 7-ara--or soon-to-be 9-ara or T-9r9 or whatever. As much as how their name can be used as another sexual pun, their debut mini is the equivalent of exploited atrocity. Being their promotional song, Gangkiz is here to torment each one of us with their entrant masterpiece, Honey Honey!
cleaning it good
I don't know how much delusion is fed to their company, but based on the overall presentation of the girls, I cannot digest how Core Contents Media still finds a redux bankable in an already-saturated market that is Hallyu pop.
Here are what I think per different aspect of the production:
Honey Honey
Title: Anyone here who follows T-ara promotions would be but a hypocrite if he couldn't see a pattern after Bo Beep Bo Beep, Ya Ya Ya, Lovey Dovey or Cry Cry. Someone buy them originality.
Song: Nothing different as what were previously spewed out of KKS' musical abyss of recyclables. When listening to this trash incarnate of a song, Lovey Dovey immediately rings a bell. (Again? We could vividly see authenticity here) Similar to how CCM constantly butchered T-ara post-debut, they also failed to grab the initial opportunity to show what these girls could do because of the entire "Europop" shitass they had to go through. I couldn't even decipher who is who. Their voices were jacked up like Nana dat manfaced goddess is to a chipmunk. Verdict: 2 STARS OVER FIVE, BITCHES
thrust dat shit 4 me, bbz
MV Ver. 1: You couldn't deny that this is one lovechild of an interracial fuck between Lovey Dovey and Cry Cry.
So anyway, off to the plot.
Let's face it; the MV seemed to revolve around that fucking gun like they can easily joke around with that shit hanging around. So one of the girls discovered that one of them was hiding the gun--then she thinks of using it to seek revenge for her cheating lover until her girlfriends come for her with waterguns ready to drench that adulterous son of a bitch to shame. Very necessary.
T-ara clones: "Hasta la vista, oppa~"
Another question that bugs me is whether they even know one another prior to acting like Euro sluts they needed to be. Cuz after that intro sequence of going deranged and trashy but I'm still hot, bitches, they all began hitchin on that Volkswagen and seemed to get along pretty well easily.
fresh cream is bondage
AND fate led them to one another. Quite allegorical to a quest--the quest to save their future careers.
NEXT STOP: Idol Conundrum
Despite the fairly good choice of setting, the cinematography and how lovely these girls looked on camera, the European tour was nothing special (is that it, Korea?). The presentation was okay--for a clothing ad. Of course, in a very competitive industry such as K-Pop, companies surely need to pimp their shit to an unreasonable degree, but this movie-type gimmick doesn't help at all. To CCM: Quit the whole drama effect if you're not gonna show anything better than that (or at least make a decent story and give people lines) aside from boy-faced Jiyeon.
short-haired, stuck-up bitches with teh gunz
Verdict: 2.5 / 5
MV Ver. 2: Waste of time, nothing much. 'Nuff said. Is this even an MV? It's just like a promotional video.
Ver. 1 reference: Totally SFW (no sarcasm)
Sorry, boys. No surprises or another tit flash from Hwadog.
Verdict: 1.5 / 5
MV Dance Ver.:
Since there would be two pointless versions, no all-package MV promotion would be complete if there's no dance! The problem here, unlike what many may have been expecting, is they could've just relabeled it to Honey Honey MV Pathetic Attempt to be a Disrupting Bitch Version. The beginning was misleading if one would refer to the previous two MVs. Shifts in scenes were also inconsistent.
while pulling off dat G.NA look? seems legit
With relation to how each member's "past" was revealed during the first version, there is a huge inconsistency with how each girl transformed on the 3rd MV. From damaged pretty ladies tryina escape their tragedies, they suddenly went shit Ke$ha all over. Is that CCM's message saying that Gangkiz is nothing but exactly a gang--a means for the girls to cope with their own struggles and nothing else could be expected from that shitty concept? Aided by the fact that Gangkiz was given much more overall reel time than what Lady Gaga usually has for each of her similarly plot-laden music videos, I find it such a waste for CCM (and Hyomin, but ur still my ass-bouncing steed, mmkay) to produce a set of 3 MVs with nowhere going to. First impression lasts.
Minah on ur mushroom tip: "Nothing lasts forever."
^
STFU, HO. WE ALL KNOW YOUR DEBUT WAS EQUALLY SHIT.
Ofc this crap compensated. Tooootally redeemed everything. No other people would be more content than the fanboys who only go for the faps aside from the music. Tho definitely we won't go for THEIR music any sooner.
nice try, Leeteuk
Don't worry, girls. Next promotion would mean another chance mmkay.
Unfair review! :( Anti-fan!
